Privacy Policy
legalrecruiters.org (the "Site") is operated by The Voll Group("we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the Site collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Listings come from public sources
The Site is a directory of legal recruiting firms. We find firms through public search results, public map listings and public company directories, and every listing is checked against the firm's own website. Listings describe businesses: the firm's name, website, office locations, published phone number, and what the firm says it recruits for, each linked to the page it came from. The methodology page explains the rules.
A firm can correct its listing through the claim form or ask for it to be taken down on the removal page. You can also email info@legalrecruiters.org about any listing.
Information you send us
- Claim or correction form.Your firm, your name, your work email, the firm's website and the changes you ask for. The form sends this to us by email. We use your email to check that you work at the firm (it should match the firm's domain) and to confirm the update. The listing changes are published after we check them; your name and email are not.
- Removal form. The firm and an email address at the firm's own domain. We email that address a link to confirm. When the removal is confirmed, we record the address as unsubscribed so we do not email it again, and we take the listing down.
- Email. Whatever you include when you write to info@legalrecruiters.org.
Email to listed firms
We may send a listed firm a short email about its listing, to a business email address published on the firm's own website, with up to two follow-ups. Every such email has an unsubscribe link. Using it stops further email to that address without changing the listing; the same page offers a separate button to remove the listing. We stop emailing a firm when it replies, claims or removes its listing, or unsubscribes.
Information collected automatically
We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors find and use the Site. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies and receives information about the pages you view, interactions such as clicking a link or submitting a form, the site or search that referred you, and your device and browser. Your IP address is transmitted to Google when your browser connects to its service. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We use the analytics reports, which are aggregated, to understand which pages are useful and how people reach us. Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
Google Analytics is the only third-party analytics or tracking service on the Site. We do not run advertising or retargeting pixels, we do not use session-recording or session-replay software, and we do not use visitor-identification services that attempt to determine who an individual visitor is.
The Site is hosted by Vercel Inc. Like any web host, Vercel receives the technical information your browser sends with each request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, in order to deliver the page and protect the service. The forms are rate limited by IP address for the same reason.
How we use information
- To keep listings accurate, and to make the corrections and removals firms ask for;
- To reply to you and to send the confirmation emails the forms promise;
- To understand, in aggregate, how the Site is used and improve it; and
- To keep the Site secure and stop abuse of the forms.
Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising.
We share information only with the service providers that run the Site for us, and only so they can provide that service: Vercel for hosting, Google for analytics and for our email inbox, and Resend for sending the Site's emails and keeping its unsubscribe list. We may also disclose information if the law or a legal proceeding requires it, to protect our legal rights, or to a buyer of our business if it is sold.
Cookies and your choices
The only cookies the Site sets are the first-party Google Analytics cookies described above. We do not use advertising, retargeting or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not allow third parties to place advertising cookies on the Site.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics in supported browsers by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Blocking analytics does not affect your ability to use the Site or its forms.
Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common standard for how a website should respond to it, so the Site does not currently change its behavior when it receives one. Other than Google Analytics as described above, we do not allow third parties to collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use the Site.
Children
The Site is meant for professionals and businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
How long we keep information
We keep claim, correction and removal requests, and other email, for as long as we need them to act on the request and to keep a record of changes to listings. We keep unsubscribed addresses for as long as we send email, because that list is what stops us from emailing them again. Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account and then deleted by Google.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. Removal confirmation links are signed and expire after 48 hours. No website or email service is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of information sent to us over the internet.
Access, correction and deletion
To ask what personal information we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted, email info@legalrecruiters.org. To change or remove a firm listing, use the claim form or the removal page. If we cannot do what you ask, we will tell you why.
Links to other sites
Listings link to the firms' own websites and to map searches. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites, so please read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when what the Site collects or how we use it changes, and we will change the effective date at the top when we do.
